Data Insights: Is the Data Warehouse Dead? with Waterstons

About this event

On Thursday 16th February 2023, we welcomed North East-based IT business 'with a difference' Waterstons to The Catalyst to jointly host Data Insights: Is the Data Warehouse Dead?

The event took place in the Wolfson Seminar Rooms here at The Catalyst and featured a keynote talk from James Bell, Waterstons Head of Data and Analytics at Waterstons, and an interactive workshop led by Hannah Francis, their Executive Data and Analytics Consultant.

We had a great turnout for this event and it was great to see so many people from the North East tech and data community coming together to discuss the fate of the data warehouse (but don't worry, we won't spoil the video for you!)

Speakers

James Bell
Head of Data and Analytics, Waterstons

James has been at Waterstons for over five years, starting as a Technology Consultant and steadily working his way to Head of Data and Analytics, a position he has held since late 2021. James has spent his entire career in around technology, data and analytics in some capacity, meaning that he has deep knowledge and experience of his subject matter, which is a great asset to the data team at Waterstons.

Hannah Francis
Executive Data and Analytics Consultant, Waterstons

Before joining Waterstons, Hannah spent 10 years working in Higher Education. She's held a number of different data roles - including analyst, engineer, and general data wrangler - but in recent years has become interested in all the things surrounding technology that make an organisation successful in its management and use of data, and it is in this capacity that she leads the Data Consultancy team at Waterstons. She loves seeing clients make the shift from "this is really hard" to "this is really exciting!", and particularly enjoys working with universities and charities.
